For three continuous years, the UNL College of Architecture has promoted its Hyde Lecture Series with a printed postcard. Sized to 5” x 7” to capitalize on bulk media rates available through the US Postal Service, this postcard tri-folds open to a larger poster area of 15” x 7”. In turn, the larger size of the promotional image remains small enough to be displayed next to one’s desk, and yet is large enough to visually compete with posters found on display at other collegiate schools of architecture. Furthermore, the postcard designs are fully compliant with larger University of Nebraska guidelines for printed material.
The recurring layout structure between the three designs brand the Hyde Lectures Series through the establishment of respective graphic identities for each annual theme. Each graphic identity was then maintained across the series’ printed postcard, notices, and title introductions to recorded lectures. Each poster / postcard set-up was coordinated with the UNL Office of Printing Services and each run was approximately 2400 impressions.
Hyde Lectures were recorded and edited by John Albrecht of the UNL New Media Center, who also animated the lead-in title introductions for each lecture. |
